NEXTGEN® TECHNOLOGY

An effective antioxidant serum is the essential step in any beauty routine. The highly concentrated synergistic active antioxidants included in NextGen® serums feature breakthrough biomimetic technology that provides long-term stabilization of pure vitamin C, even at high temperatures.

WHAT IS VITAMIN C?

L-ascorbic acid, also called pure vitamin C, is a water-soluble vitamin, synthesized or naturally extracted from citrus fruits.

It is considered one of the strongest and most effective antioxidants and is widely known for its broad antioxidant and anti-aging properties. It has been shown to help effectively neutralize free radicals and protect the skin against excessive oxidative stress.

Since humans cannot synthesize Vitamin C, we must acquire this essential vitamin mainly through the regular consumption of fruits and vegetables. Only a small concentration of dietary vitamin C reaches the skin, the best way to increase the concentration of vitamin C in the skin is to use topical solutions.

BENEFITS

L-ascorbic acid, also known as the pure form of vitamin C. This well-known molecule has unique benefits for the skin, with advanced properties for exposome protection* and advanced skin aging.

The well-known benefits of L-ascorbic acid are:

- Fight against free radicals responsible for the visible signs of aging

- Reduces fine lines and wrinkles

- Strengthens the skin by promoting the production of collagen

- Reduces visible sun damage and evens skin tone

- Illuminates the skin

- Limits cellular DNA damage

*The exposome is the set of external aggressions that affect your body, including solar radiation, stress or lack of sleep, among others.

HOW DOES PURE VITAMIN C FIGHT FREE RADICAL DAMAGE?

Free radicals are produced in the skin as a result of environmental exposure (pollution, tobacco, infrared solar rays and UVA-B, among others) which generate free radicals, molecules unstable with unpaired electrons. Free radicals try to "steal" electrons from other molecules, which leads to oxidative stress.

Over time, harmful compounds can build up on the skin and inhibit the production of key proteins, such as collagen and elastin, and free radical damage leads to visible signs of premature aging. of the skin, such as fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and sagging.

Antioxidants, such as L-ascorbic acid, help protect the skin from this damage by "donating" electrons to neutralize the damaging effects of free radicals and help prevent the signs of premature aging from appearing.

ALPHASCIENCE VITAMIN C SERUMS VS OTHER BRANDS?

Vitamin C is a very powerful ingredient, but like many other natural antioxidants, it is fragile and unstable in its pure form.

Dr. Alfred Marchal, PhD in Organic Chemistry, Head of Alphascience Research and Co-Founder, was the first scientist to be able to stabilize pure vitamin C in mixed and water-based formulas in the 1980s in Europe.

Dr. Marchal has developed for ALPHASCIENCE NextGen® Technology, the latest technology to stabilize Vitamin C in an antioxidant complex. This innovation has exceeded expectations: independent tests have shown that the complex is long-term stable even at high temperatures.

For best results, always look for "Ascorbic Acid" in the ingredient list of your skincare products.

All Alphascience NextGen® antioxidant serums are formulated with pure L-ascorbic acid in synergy with tannic acid, following the secret guidelines of Dr. Marchal.

Use the remaining product to spread on the neck, décolleté and back of the hands and allow to absorb.

For complete protection against environmental aggressions, combine your NextGen® serum every morning with a high SPF sunscreen.

Vitamin C History

The history of Medical Aesthetic was lead by the synthesis of different generations of L-Ascorbic acid. Alfred Marchal has left an important mark with his most recognized innovations thanks to the NextGen® Technology.

Research teams in the US and in Europe worked for the first time stabilizing Vitamin C in water/oil serums, resulting in best-sellers all around the world. It's problem? It's unstability.
Alfred Marchal, our Head of Research, expertise in Vitamin C, launched products that became worldwide best-sellers.

The R&D teams all over the world work to find a way to stabilize pure L-ascorbic acid.
They managed to create new derivatives of this molecule or to stabilize the L-ascorbic acid in water-free solutions with silicone basis.
Although, the vitamin C in silicones may be stable in the bottle it is not stable on the skin. A tiny amount of Vitamin C derivatives transform into L-ascorbic acid.
